A Message from Shaman, Okinawa, Japan
Yoshimaru and Rica Higa
April 20, 2011
Thank you so much for sending many messages from many people for our ceremony of peace held on April 3 in Okinawa, Japan.
All the people gathered here, including respectful elders and shamans, may know about the news that the big earthquake and the tsunami in northern Japan have caused so many casualties amounting to more than 27,000 in all including those missing.
It was such a tragedy. And the accident that should not have happened did happen. The accident at the nuclear power plants caused by this disaster is a human accident.
Please do not take it wrong. I am not saying that it was the fault and responsibility of the people working at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plants
All the blames and responsibilities should go to the leaders of the Electric Power Company and the Government of Japan. It is the responsibility of all the political parties and politicians in Japan, not one political party alone.
This time I have witnessed the careless ways of dealing with the most important matter in the Japanese Government. They should protect our sovereignty, properties and most of all, our lives. I have witnessed the lack of leadership and good judgment to overcome nation’s crisis in our leaders. The way they are handling things look to us people as if the leaders of the Government and business prefer their profit to our own lives.
Is Japan a country that really suffered from atomic weapons? Or, is this country aware of the horror of radiation at all, I wonder.
Or, do they realize that their action to release the contaminated water by radiation into the sea is an action of contaminating the very source of life itself?
Water is the very fundamental source of life.
The warmed sea water turns to be steam and it goes up to mountains, and then it becomes the source of rain and water. In the meantime, it gives various many lives, including us people, and breed them all.
There are borders in the world of us people. But in the world of nature, there is no such border at all. The sea currents circulate around the Earth and they have nothing to do with borders. It is the same with the wind and rain. They have nothing to do with borders. They just circulate in the star called Earth.
We have to be sure of one important thing. It is that one event is related to everything around.
One event in one nation is not an issue of that nation alone. It is the issue of the Earth itself. All the nations, yours and your neighboring nation and others, are living in the same nature, no matter how developed your nation may be. It is an issue of a nation called Earth.
What is important now is to take what is happening as your own matter and try to guide the environment to a better direction. It has nothing to do with the profits and tactics of any nation or any corporation.
What I am talking about is destruction and contamination caused by humans. It is possible for us to solve this problem, if we stick together and use our wisdom and techniques in cooperation. If we can do it, it will be an action to appreciate, thank and respect this star for giving us our lives.
I am a victim of the atomic bombing in Hiroshima. Among nine people in my family, including my parents, five have suffered from the atomic bombing in Hiroshima during the Second World War.
My mother told me something I cannot forget. She said, “ I cannot get away from the fear and agony of being suffered from that bombing, and I cannot get away from being prejudiced and discriminated”.
She was afraid all the time as a victim of the atomic bombing. She was afraid whether her sons can get married, whether her daughters can get married, whether their babies, as second generation of the atomic-suffered, can be born healthy. She was worried whether her grandchildren or their babies will be all right or not. She told me that this fear did not leave her.
My mother was a shaman. She continued her prayers and divine ceremonies until she died at the age of 83. She was saying to me, “ You should not let the next generation to go through with the misery, fear and agony of the war, atomic weapons and atomic-suffered. ”
She also said this.
When she got pregnant, she felt a life in her and understood how important and marvelous that is. The moment she had a baby after a long pain, she felt the best joy as mother. When she was giving milk to her baby, the moment she felt the importance of life, she got to know that mother is the same as the earth itself.
She said that it is important for everyone to see, grasp, and feel the earth first. She said that it is important to root into the ground and see the heaven at the same time. After she passed away, I inherited her will and started my divine ceremonies and activities. I travelled all around Japan hoping a peace everywhere and no natural disaster will take place. I visited all the nuclear power plants and prayed there for peace.
I received a revelation that a critical moment will come and went to Fukushima Daiichi seven times for prayer before the accident. And it happened.
There are people who are working in the worst situation at the nuclear power plants now. They stood up, volunteered and went there for recovery.
I cannot imagine how their families are taking it. It is beyond my comprehension. How are their families feeling now? All I can do now is to pray. How can I thank them more?
I am hoping for the people who have volunteered to work inside the zone of Fukushima Daiichi to solve the problem. I do hope that they will accomplish the job and come back home safely as soon as possible.
This time, so many people have lost their families and they are desperate. Moreover, they are afraid of radiation.
I beg you to send them your messages full of love and life.
This world is hard to make a change, even if you pray.
When we see a union of each wish, hope and action, it is probably the time to start an action to change the world.
The disaster happened and it gave us a clue to know that we are related to the nature and that we are coexisting. This disaster awakened us in this way.
I guess that it will be very important for all of us to make this star, our home, a better place for living. It is for those already deceased, for those contaminated, and for those who will live in next generation.
For that, please send your messages to the people of Japan. Please send us your words of love and wisdom. I beg you elders, shamans and everyone here.
Thank you.
