We Need Your Heartful Prayers and Actions Yoshimaru Higa

(This is a brief sketch of what Yoshimaru Higa, shaman from Okinawa, Japan, said to the audience gathered before he and his wife, Rica Higa, took off for the Turtle Lodge in Manitoba, Canada where the 1st International Roundtable Supporting Indigenous Knowledge(IRSIK) is being held. Yoshimaru has many views of the world and its future and this is part of them. Yoichi Teraishi---their translator and mediator).
I often get divine revelations and get some visions first. My task is not let people ask our God for miracles to happen. My task is to let them know what are happening on earth and what they can do for themselves, if they really would like to contribute to change the world for the better. For this purpose, my personal strength or power as a shaman is limited and trivial. I am not the only one who get divine revelations. All my wife, Rica, and I are doing is trying to let people know about the possibility of changing the world by prayers, not only by us alone but by all the people gathered in here today. If you really would like to see the world clearly and if you are ready to do something about it, I want you to pray together with us. Your prayers and your respective hopes and actions are very important.
We are not asking our God to make miracles. It is us humans who are making things happen on earth in today’s world. Our prayer for God is our oath to ourselves to try to change the world for the better by ourselves. People start wars, not our God. If we would like to stop wars, we have to change ourselves---our thinkings and attitudes to each other.
One of the reasons why my wife and I are visiting nuclear power plants(17 of them in Japan) when we can is because we would not want any undesirable accidents happen there whatsoever. If such an accident would come true, it would trigger a tragic misery not only in Japan but in the entire world. This, I dread. This is why we are visiting these nuclear power plants for prayers. Our prayers may not do any good, but it is the only way that we can do. Any sporadic accident at a nuclear power plant in Japan would take place, it would be disastrous. Such an accident is more horrible than any nuclear weapon because the radioactive contamination would last for thousands of years until it comes back to normal.
I dread the worsening of the natural environments as well. The explosions of volcanoes and continuing miseries of big earthquakes around the world are symptoms of such. What is most important for us humans is clean WATER. Without it, we would not be able to survive, because it is the source of our lives.
I hope that you will notice that you cannot get the realities or what are really happening on television. You cannot get to know the real happenings on TV. You have to see them through your own eyes and find the truth. So, it is important that you would realize that you are the person who would get to know the realities and do something about it on your own.
One important step is to tell your children about them. An education is the key. You have to protect your own children, future of us human beings, first. You have to understand what kind of anxieties they have got and you have to try to solve their own problems. Your knowing the realities, namely your knowledge, should be conveyed to your children.
You do not have to breed your children in a special way. All you have to do is breed them, let them grow naturally and teach what you know about this world. Unnatural way of planting them something spiritual is not welcome. It is so because all children have their own spiritual thing in them already. All you do is let them grow naturally.
You can also participate in political activities, such as voting, etc. By doing so, you can contribute to do something for this world to change for the better. Your actions are most important. Your education for your children is most urgently needed.
Please do your own things one by one whatever you can do. When these actions are taken by many people, it would mean a lot. Many undesirable things are actually happening on earth today. Probably and hopefully we can stop the world going into the worst situation. For this, we have solve our own problems one by one by ourselves, by our own actions. This is what is important for us.
Our God is implying that everything is up to ourselves, us humans. So what is important is to let ourselves know more about the world, more about the realities, and what we can do about them.
We have inherited good “seeds” or “knowledge” from our ancestors. Now we have to let our children inherit our own “seeds”. Let them blossom! Let them communicate to each other on earth! Thus, we can try to make the world for the better.
Lastly, let me tell you this. The purpose of our prayers is simple---it is for us to get to know what are important for us and we have to protect them and keep praying for those we love; our families and our friends. A turtle is a messenger from the sea. A special turtle from the palace in deep sea carries the message. Hopefully, it would carry the most important message to Manitoba, Canada, which is situated in the center of the continent of North America.
